The Role
Senior Project Engineer Conventional Nuclear Technology
Responsible for the specification of requirements, selection and design of turbine and associated "cold end" (the main heat sink) components as well as the mechanical equipment (turbine island, TI). Included in the responsibility will be the preparation of documents / technical papers
Tasks
*Carry out project plan including regular reporting (Work Breakdown Structure, activities, dependencies, schedule, resource plan, costs, risks)
*Supervise external service support and accompany, test and participate with the development of the deliverables
*Implement and support cross-site technical communication
*Reviews and study the field (including cooling)
*Assess and contribute to documents related to the building permit applications
*Development of technical specifications and requirements for the site-specific TI-systems, including turbine, condenser and the main heat sink work (cooling). Development of electrical system designs
*Design and develop turbine island systems
*Perform technical evaluation of offers / bids / tenders
*Coordination with other departments to ensure project sites
*Represent the client on site with suppliers and authorities
*Represent the project interests with relevant bodies and experts

Education:
*M. Eng (Dipl. Ing ETH) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Languages:
*German (fluent) or French (fluent) a must
*English
Professional competence (skills):
*Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical engineering with specialization in Fluid Machinery
*Proven experience in conception, design and / or construction and operation of steam turbines in large power plants.
*Proven knowledge of the following area
- Steam turbine (HP, IP, LP)
- Condenser and condensation systems
- Calculation and optimization of the heat balance of the water / steam cycle with
the involvement of the main heat sink
*Knowledge of Nuclear Engineering
*Knowledge of the rules in the field
Methodological skills (techniques and methods):
*Practical experience in System Engineering (Methodology)
*Knowledge of project management
*Structured and analytical approach
Social skills
*Good team player, especially in coordination with other departments
*Persuasion and strong professional appearance
*Ready for in-depth training in nuclear technology
Leadership
*Experience in technical management of external service providers
